On November 25, the Release Conference for Best Hospitals in China 2022, organized by the Institute of Hospital Management of Fudan University, was held in Shanghai. The conference announced the 2022 Best Hospitals Rankings of three categories: comprehensive ranking, specialty reputation ranking and specialty comprehensive ranking. In this year's Best Hospitals in China by Comprehensive Ranking, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Chinese PLA General Hospital ranked in the top three, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University ranked 51st. It also claimed the 16th place in the region of East China.

The rankings have been dubbed "THE guide to medical care for Chinese people", according to Yixuejie. This is the 14th consecutive year of releasing. Peking Union Medical College Hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chinese PLA General Hospital, Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine and Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University have been ranked among the top five for five consecutive years. The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University gained the title of the "fatstest improving" hospital in China this year, with its place in the comprehensive ranking rising from 82nd to 51st, a year-on-year improvement of 31 places. The First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University and Beijing Jishuitan Hospital ranked second and third of moving upwards with year-on-year improvements of 22 and 21 places, respectively.

Six specialties of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University entered the Specialty Reputation Ranking list: Pain Department ranked the 2nd, Burn Department ranked the 8th, Neurosurgery Department ranked the 14th, Gastroenterology Department ranked the 19th, Pathology Department ranked the 25th, and Health Management Medicine Department ranked the 32nd in China.
